I’m not sure what your age is but I was 10 when the


Miracle occurred. The country was mess. The Soviets were a huge threat. Cold War full on.

The Soviet hockey team was the greatest sports team on the planet. They were for years after too. They dominated NHL all star teams in games. Dominated.

Duke isn’t in that class now. Not even close.

A bunch of college kids beating the greatest hockey team on the planet was a much bigger event especially given the geopolitical and “malaise” conditions in the late 70s and 1980.
